Award-Winners
Humble - Kendrick Lamar
This music video includes Kendrick Lamar as the main performer to further promote him as an artist and for recognition so audiences can easily identify him and relate his face to his songs. The camera shot angles are changed only with the beats in this music video, whilst the singer lip syncs to the words for the duration of the music video.
It was awarded a Grammy Award for Best Music Video in 2017.
Formation - Beyonce
Beyonce appears frequently throughout this music video to promote herself as an artist and increase artist recognition. Scenes and camera shots are edited to change on the beat with the song whilst the artist lip syncs to the song.
This was also awarded a Grammy Award for Best Music Video but in 2016
Both music videos focus on promoting the artist and the visuals don't relate to the lyrics.
Beyonces music video gave me the idea to use a close up camera shot to represent footage from an old camera my character will use.

The History of Dance Music
The History of Dance Music
Dance music originated in the 1950s, when rock and roll became the popular dance music.
The late 1960s saw the rise of soul and R&B music and the rise of disco in the early 1970s led to dance music becoming popular with the public. By the late 1970s, electronic dance music was developing.
Electronic dance music (EDM) is a broad range of percussive electronic music genres made largely for nightclubs, raves, and festivals. EDM is generally produced for playback by DJs who create seamless selections of tracks, called a mix, by switching from one recording to another. EDM producers also perform their music live in a concert or festival setting in what is sometimes called a live PA (public address). In Europe, EDM is more commonly called 'dance music'.
Dance music is the sound that originated from P-Funk the electronic side of disco, dub music, and other genres.
Other dance styles that began to become popular during the post-disco era include dance-pop, boogie, electro, Italo disco, house, and techno.
Some of the most watched dance music videos include:
The Chainsmokers - "Closer"
Calvin Harris - "This Is What You Came For"
Avicii - "Wake Me Up"
